CHALLENGE
We were briefed by Cheltenham based brand and packaging design consultants Hurricane Design to help produce a short cinematic short film for their client Coca Cola. We collaborated with the project team in the production, photography and editing of the final film.
The film tells the design story of the new paper bottle that has been produced in partnership with Coca Cola’s R+D team in Brussels and the bottle’s manufacturer Paboco in Denmark and is a combination of original footage (shot in-house or on location), digital stock video and footage supplied by Paboco.
Our task was to create an emotive short film that lead the viewers on the design journey, showing inspiration, passion, production and finally product presentation. Read more about the story here.
RESULTS
Both Hurricane Design and Coca-Cola were expressly happy with the results and we are proud that our media has helped visualise the story through emotive, informative storytelling showcasing the prototype bottle technology and how the Coca Cola Company are investing in their vision of a ‘World Without Waste’.
Kind words from Hurricane Design:
“Polly has just shared the final cut of the Coca Cola videos and I wanted to send you our thanks. They are incredible – gave me goose bumps watching them. You are extremely talented
Thank you again for all your help and expertise delivering this project” Meg – Hurricane Design Consultants Ltd

The first Paper Bottle
We used a range of cinematic filmmaking techniques that we hope give the viewer a feeling of passion, care for design, positivity and forward thinking.
We open with a wide aerial shot of the Nordic woodland to set the stage, the sound of the wind then leads us to the sound of the designers pencil mapping out his ideas. The films implements use of our new Laowa Macro Lens which gives a really unique perspective, similar to that of a CGI render or a ‘bug eye view’ – we hoped that this would clearly show the textures of both drawing and the paper bottle material. Throughout the film we use soft piano music to reflect the passion and craft of the designer and the careful consideration behind the project.
